Splitpose or Hanuman asana

Hanuman, or the monkey God is celebrated in India every April on the full moon. Hanuman is connected to hanuman asana, or also known as split pose. It is a great pose to practise anytime. But the benefits are even greater if you practise the pose in springtime, especially around the full moon of April, when it is the celebration day of hanuman. The benefits of the pose are physical, emotional and spiritual. All those levels work together to help you get into the pose. It is a challenging pose. You might not be able to do the pose fully, but your perfect pose is the pose that you can do at this moment. So don’t let the images of other people, stop you from practising the pose.

WHEN TO (NOT) PRACTISE HANUMAN ASANA?

The pose is not suitable of you have an injury at the hips. Be careful when you are pregnant because the hips become less stable and the pose can create instability in the hips.
