Crete Flights

Welcome to the Crete retreat! 🌴

Here are some guidelines to book your ticket.

  • You are free to book your ticket as feels best for you. 

  • The retreat starts around 18h with dinner on Monday. It is about 2h drive to the hotel from the airport. So you can book your ticket with that in mind.

  • Airports are Heraklion or Chania.

  • Both airports are about a 2h drive to the destination. 

  • We can organise a shared taxi and/or shared rented cars, if the flights are arriving about the same time. 

  • The cost of a taxi is around 130 euro for one ride and the rental of shared cars (also useful for excursion) was 100 euro per person for all the driving to the airport and back, excursions, etc (insurance, fuel, co-drivers, rental). Depending on the number of participants and who is willing to drive, we can decide how many cars can be rented. This will be clear a month before the retreat starts.

  • Further down you can fill in the flight you would like to take in a shared document, so we can form groups that fit in a taxi or car. 

Tip: Make use of the “incognito search modus” when you google the flight.

Flight companies gather information about your searches and the prices of your favourite searches will go up. You can prevent this by using the “incognito search modus”.

Some companies that fly on Crete from Belgium are:

  • skyscanner

  • transavia

  • brussels airlines

  • tui

Here you can fill in your possible or booked flights, so other participant can see that too.

Sent a group message in the whatsapp group to tell that you filled in the document.

 Things to pack and do

✅ Light large cloth to take with you on beach walks (In the room there are towels for the bathroom, so you don't have to take them with you.)

✅ Reading book for yourself, and maybe one or two that you want to share with your travel companions for our travel library.

✅ Something to write and be creative: for example a small box of watercolours, brushes, scissors, glue, coloured pencils and markers. Choose something that you like to work with, it doesn't have to be everything.

✅ Drinking bottle

✅ Light rain and wind jacket

✅ Thick sweater for the evening

✅ Lunchbox for a packed lunch

✅ Sunscreen, mosquito repellent

✅ Hat

✅ Walking shoes and/or walking sandals for walking through water

✅ Swimsuit

✅ The clothes you love take with you on a beach holiday, where you will do yoga, walks and relax. Choose clothes that match your intention and make you feel happy and shining.

✅ Pocket money

✅ (Tea, coffee for in your kitchen - in Melissa studios that is best instant coffee or filter coffee and in the villas espresso illy capsules)

✅ Easy yoga clothing

✅ Warm socks or slippers (for Melissa studios)

✅ Flashlight

✅ Travel assistance papers + a copy of your travel insurance and written on it your contact person in case of emergency.)

✅ Your plane ticket ID & Copy of ID

✅ The money envelope with your name and the amount on it. You can also collect (part of) the money there, but write down how much it needs to be so you don't have to think about it anymore. I will send an email with your outstanding balance the week before departure.

✅ Check in your bank app that you can also withdraw money abroad.

✅ Making arrangements for de ride to the airport in Belgium. (The cars in Crete we will arrange after the Eastern Holdidays).

✅ Yoga mats and materials are available there.
